I really like Eleo's. I think it has a proper Spanish feel to it and the dining experience here is unique in Swansea. There is a café downstairs which sprawls out on to the pavement in the summertime but I'm focussing on the restaurant upstairs for this humble review.
Upstairs it's all natural wood furnishings, including the floor which feels like it'd be great for a spot of flamenco. Hundreds of bottles of rioja hang from the ceiling, continuing the Spanish theme.The downside is that this can leave the place feeling a bit open and breezy but this is only a problem when it's not very busy.
What I particularly like about Eleo's is the way you choose your food. You stroll up to the refrigerator to browse all the fresh meats and seafood and you pick which you'd like and how you'd like it. The speciality is Espetadas with melted butter which is served to your table on a skewer and suspended on a hook above your place setting, with the butter melting down along the meat. You slide the meat down to your plate, it's fun AND delicious. What a combo. -

I've not been to Eleo's since the menu changed, so this is based on what I remember it being like before. You'd pick your own cuts of meat, tell them how you wanted it cooked, picked your salad bowl and went to sit down and wait for the food to arrived. You could always see your food being cooked as the kitchen was open to the restaurant. My brother and I always used to watch in awe as flames shot up in the air! When the food arrived, it was served on sizzling plates and was always absolutely divine. My mum had a huge kebab one time we went, which was delivered and hung from a hook that was fixed to the beams on the ceiling. Amazing. I've heard it's all changed now though, so I do need to go back and update this!

Eleo's looks lovely and presents a good image. Staff are friendly and the menu is fantastic with a good range however when it came down to it I personally wasnt that impressed with the food. It wasnt to my personal taste. That is not to say that it wasnt of a good quality.
It is not a place I would return to simply for this reason however I do feel that the fact that it is an established restaraunt must be taken into consideration when deciding whether or not to visit. Prices are a little above average but then so are your surroundings. -

Love Eleo's, been going there for years, service always great, food delicious, unique place, just enjoy the whole experience every time we go, great meeting place, ideal for the whole family, or intimate meal for two.
